Managing Travel Budgets: Clarity on Ancillary Fees

Transparency is key in the corporate travel management industry. After all, if you don’t know what your travelers are spending, then how can you properly negotiate, plan and budget for it?  As a topic that’s plagued the industry with grave uncertainty and questions, airline ancillary fees have pushed us to be forward thinking and adapt to this ever changing marketplace to bring clarity to the topic.  In fact, for two years I’ve personally traveled across the US and Europe speaking on this very topic at numerous industry educational events.  I did this to highlight the challenges to find one standard reporting approach and to represent AirPlus as advocate for an industry-wide solution through my participation in advisory boards, panels and think tanks.

By listening to the growing concerns of our customers over their lack of control and insight into these airline fees, and through collaboration with industry partners, AirPlus has created an industry first solution: the AirPlus Ancillary Fee Reports.  Based on our US Corporate Card data, we’ve developed a set of reports that bring true clarity to and transparency to these charges.  Industry experts have praised our innovation and our customers applaud it.  These reports can be used for analysis and internal reporting, monitoring and steering company travel policy, negotiating with preferred airlines and bringing better clarity to a company’s airline ancillary fee spend.

I welcome you to see it for yourself! Simply email ancillaryfeereports@airplus.com or visit www.airplus.com for more information.
